How Simple is Salvation? As Simple as Faith

You're a sinner.
I'm a sinner.
Sin deserves a payment. That payment is death and hell.
Jesus Christ paid that price.
Accept His gift.

There is no reason to overthink salvation. It is a simple faith that saves us from the punishment that we deserve for our actions. If you want to be technical, it's not actually the faith, but rather God's grace that saves us.

Faith and grace are legal terms, but they are not complex. They are simple and God's promises are binding. From the beginning of time, God has planned for you to be redeemed from eternal damnation.

This simple prayer (the meaning, not the words) exemplifies what you need to be saved:
"God, be merciful to me a sinner."

Escaping Hell

"Escaping Hell" written by @MrJoshuaCoffman

This is an article regarding eternal life. Maybe you have thought of it, maybe you haven't. Either way, the subject matter is very important. When we exit the realm of small talk and begin broaching eternity and life beyond death it is important to remember our Creator and His attributes: goodness, just, orderly, faithful, loving.

How to Escape Hell

1. Everyone is a sinner.
Have you ever lied? How about lusted? Have you ever taken God's name in vain? That makes you a lying, adulterous blasphemer. Isaiah 53:6 states "all...have gone astray." Romans 3:12 goes on to say "there is none that doeth good"

2. Sinners go to hell.
A good judge doesn't weigh the good against the bad. They give the correct punishment for the evil doers. In Revelations 21:8 it tells us that "the fearful, and unbelieving... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." Romans 6:23 clearly teaches "the wages of sin is death."

3. Jesus paid for your sin in full.
As a gift, Christ endured the most cruel and painful death and shed His innocent blood as a payment for your sins. Romans 5:8 says "Christ died for us". Romans 4:25 says that Christ was "delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification."

4. Accept the gift of Christ.
To escape the punishment that you deserve, and to gain eternal life with your Creator, you must accept the gift that has been purchased for you. Ephesians 2:8 explains "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" Romans 10:9 illustrates for us the importance of a specific "experience" of salvation: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." There are no magical words to salvation, but salvation must be experienced as faith, usually demonstrated by words.
Make this moment your salvation "experience" by praying this prayer in your own words: Dear God, I know that I'm a sinner and I deserve to go to Hell. I accept the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ your son as my only escape from hell and my only saviour to Heaven. Thank you for saving my soul and taking me to Heaven when I die. Amen!

God's Gift To You, Please Accept It

Jesus Christ is God's gift to you. While we are sinning (lying, blaspheming, coveting, lusting), God is preparing to make us an offer that we cannot refuse. He offers us His only Son to die on the cross in our stead.

Call on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.

"Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned. Please save me from the eternal damnation that I deserve."

The prayer cannot save you, but the grace that you are receiving by faith will.
